We finally arrived into Perth this afternoon (Aussie time), it was 12:30 Oklahoma time. Very long trip but I must say that I had a truly amazing little travel partner. Jack did amazingly well. We took off from Dallas around 7:30pm for a 3.5 hour flight into LAX.
Jack was happy to eat some yummy Pizza in DFW before our take off.
Since the flight was obviously international we had to wait around a lot before boarding the initial flight. Here I was trying to figure out the self timer function on my camera. I have had the camera since Jack was born and am just now taking the time to figure out all of it's capabilities! Nice huh!
Jack acted like he was about 8 years old in the airport. He was such a big boy, he carried his own backpack the entire time and he listened very well to Mommy when she was in a major rush to get through a crowd! Growing up so fast!
This was on the first leg of the trip. From Dallas to LAX. Happy at this point to be on an airplane!
The leg of the trip from LAX to Sydney was a BEAT DOWN!! 14 hours, I wanted to jump up and down and scream let me off of here. Jack however, slept for around 9 hours of the flight and was pretty easy to entertain with movies, games, coloring and reading the rest of the time. This is right before he was fading off to sleep.

FINALLY made it to Sydney! Jack said about the last 2 hours of the flight, "Can we get down yet Momma?" We were in a mad rush to make our connection to Perth. Luckily this really nice Aussie man that worked for Qantas, saw me struggling with 2 large bags, 2 carry-ons and a 3 year old and he helped me out. Qantas was amazing to fly. He escorted us all the way from baggage claim through customs, which was a HUGE help because they just waived us through and didn't make us stand in the long lines. Needless to say, after all the help and running through the airport we still missed our connection. Not too big of a deal beside just waiting in the airport for a few more hours. PLUS...they bumped us to Business Class. Free beer and wine, and this Momma needed a few sips of wine, even if it was like 10am Aussie time!
So since we had a few more hours to spare we stopped and ate at Hungry Jacks, the Australian version of Burger King. Jack was in heaven!
The last leg from Sydney to Perth was another 5 hour flight. This was the most brutal of all the traveling for me and Jack. He did really well but kept asking to get up and go potty out of boredom.
Finally we made it.
We took a taxi from the airport to the Gallup's house. So great to see the kids! They are all amazing, beautiful little angels! We went to pick up the girls from school and Jack ran around playing like he had been let out of a cage. After a wonderful spaghetti dinner, Jack had a major meltdown and went to bed. He is snoring loudly. I am soon to follow.
I took lots of pictures of our double decker plane, and other miscellaneous trip happenings but I'll save that for another post.
So glad to finally be here. Love and Hugs from Australia!
